Product Review: Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

Image of Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

I hope everyone had a wonderful May 2-4 Weekend!

I had a wonderful weekend! I had the entire weekend off and was able to spend time with my friends & family and the weather was amazing! I hope everyone else had a wonderful long weekend and did something exciting!

I have been hearing a lot of..conflicting reviews on the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. Some people love it and some people hate it. This product has been out for years and in my opinion, it's a little underrated.

Price: This product is $18.99 regular price in Canada and I usually buy this when it's on sale for $8.99, which is pretty often.

Application: to apply they recommend you spray the product directly on to yours hands (not your legs!) and apply it to your legs. I found it incredibly easy to blend the colour out so you're not left with streaky, patchy colour. It gives a nice, even hint of colour and looks fabulous!

Scent: I am not a huge fan of the scent of this product but that is not deciding factor for me. It doesn't have the fake tan smell that most other fake tanners have, but I would almost prefer that scent over the scent of this product as it is a tad overwhelming. The good thing is that the scent doesn't seem to linger. I can't smell it after application.

Colour: There are 4 different shades to this line: Light Glow, Medium Glow, Tan Glow and Deep Glow. I don't believe that we have all 4 shades available where I purchased them..so I bought the Medium Glow for Light/Medium skintone which is second shade after the lightest and it worked great for me and I am pretty pale.

I love using this when I want just a bit of colour on my legs and it works fantastic. It does, however, transfer. That dreaded word. I wouldn't recommend wearing any white clothing if you plan to be using this product.

This is one of my many go-to, convenience products and I will continue to buy this. It's quick, easy and has amazing colour pay off. It covers all the imperfections on your legs and gives it an even colour.

Highly recommend this product!

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

Small Drug Store Haul!

I just want to say on a little bit of a side note that I absolutely LOVE the weather right now. It`s getting so warm where I live and it's so beautiful! Summer is my favourite! :)

I went to the drug store just to pick up more foundation and just as it is for everyone, you go in for one thing and come out with a cart full. They're out to get you with basket sizes, I swear!

Products

Revlon Colorstay Oily/Combo in 150 Buff.
L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hair Spray
Method Pink Grapefruit hand soap.
TSTC Strawberry & Papaya Fruit Scrub
Sally Hansen No More Mistakes.
Quo by Orly Detailer Brush & Dotter Duo Tool

The first thing I knew I absolutely had to pick up was L'oreal's Elnett hair spray. I have been hearing rave reviews on this product by so many people and someone recommended that I try this product, so I went out and picked it up ! I haven't curled my hair recently and it hasn't been humid enough where my hair needs that hold, but soon we'll see!

I have once again gone back to my Revlon Colorstay foundation...I just haven't found anything better that compares. I absolutely love this foundation. It gives great coverage, it's buildable, doesn't transfer and keeps my oilies at bay!

I purchased the TSTC Strawberry and Papaya scrub on a whim because I needed one and the Soap & Glory one wasn't there. It was the only other one in the store. I found this product to be a little abrasive but I have tough skin apparently, because it worked great for me. Left my skin silky smooth and sloughed all the dry skin off. The scent is a little overwhelming but it smells like strawberries and cream, so it's not all bad!

I have an addiction to painting my nails, the only downside is that I don't always have a steady hand. I was originally using a brush and nail polish remover to clean up my edges, and it does work. I saw the Sally Hansen No More Mistakes at the drug store and thought, what the hell! I bought it and tried it out. It works well. The issue I had with using a brush is that the bristles are too soft and it took much too long to remove the polish.

The Quo Detailer brush was bought on a whim and I love it. It`s so easy and makes my nails look like they were done by a professional! LOVE! The dotter tool has 2 separate ends, one has a smaller dotter tool and the other a little larger.

I'll let you guys know how these products work :)

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!!

Target Haul and TAYLOR SWIFT!

Good morning lovelies :)

I hope everyone is having a good morning so far!

I went to the states last week to do a little shopping and believe it or not, if I hadn't taken pictures for this blog..I wouldn't be able to remember what I bought! LOL

I picked up the Not Your Mothers brand dry shampoo to give it a try and the Beach Babe Sea Salt Spray because I was curious and wanted to give it a try! I think by now you all know that I have a thing for dry shampoos..I have to try all of them! I have so far only stuck with Batiste, it's my favourite and I haven't found one that's better. So maybe this one will be a winner! I am going to be doing a fair bit of travelling this year and spending a lot of time at the beach and the sea salt spray is an easy way to tame my hair and make it cute when I'm in a rush.

As for Olay, I'm really not usually an Olay buyer..I haven't bought one of their products in ages but I am a marketer's dream (and my own worst enemy!) because the package is what sold me. It's so cute and I have crazy oily skin so I wanted to see how this worked, what it felt like and if it actually reduced the oiliness in my skin..even though I know my oily skin is caused by internal issues.

As for the foundation, I am constantly trying to find that amazing foundation for my skin and sadly this one definitely wasn't it. I have crazy oily skin a few hours after I apply foundation and the finish of this foundation does not suit my skin type at all. I will be sticking to Revlon Colorstay for now! It's my go to foundation and I do absolutely love it!

ALSO

I went to see Taylor Swift last weekend at Ford Field and it was AMAZING! She did so fantastic and I got to see Ed Sheeran again. He is absolutely my favourite artist and he's phenomenal live! I couldn't have asked for a better night :)

Have a beautiful day everyone!!

Product Review: Macadamia Deep Repair Masque

Let me start off by saying that this stuff is....amazing! It is a godsend and I am so in love with it (as much as you can be in love with an inanimate object).

Image of Macadamia Deep Repair Mask

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque is definitely on the pricey side of the spectrum. It's about $30 in the states for an 8.5 fl. oz jar. I had heard so many fantastic reviews about this product and on a trip to the states a while back I spotted it at Target and HAD to purchase it. It's funny because I actually found it as a package, 2 jars for $32. Thanks Target!

I use this product once a week and it makes my hair feel incredibly silky and I have gotten so many comments about my hair looking healthier and shinier, which is great because I do tend to use a lot of heat styling with my hair! Macadamia Deep Repair masque has a very creamy, silky texture and smells absolutely amazing! I am so addicted to the scent of macadamia products...so amazing! Using it once a week, you don't fly through the product. The first jar I bought at least 2 months ago and I've barely made a dent in it. It lasts!

I highly recommend this product for anyone who has dry hair or anyone who does a lot of heat styling. It really works wonders.

May Topbox Unboxing

Hey all!

I received my May Topbox in the mail this morning and after the whole Glymm debacle, I was SO excited to get it since I didn't receive my last Glymm box and I am not disappointed!

Topbox

Topbox

The first thing that I received in my Topbox was a full sized product - Cuccio Colour Nail Lacqeur. It's a neutral shade and I love that because I really don't have many. I'm really excited to try this product out. Full Size: $10.

I also received a sample of Lise Watier Haute Couleur High Coverage Lip Lacqeur in colour 343 Stylista and it's a really beautiful pink colour. The sample size was 1.5 mL and the full size is 6 mL and is $23.

The next product was a shadow refill from the Yaby cosmetics line and Copper Wire. I swatched this eye shadow and the first thing I noticed was the texture - it was super silky, not grainy. The colour payoff is awesome, it's highly pigmented and just looks beautiful. I apologize for the poor focus! -.-

The last product I received was the Roberto Cavalli Shower gel and it smells AMAZING. The sample size is 1.0 fl oz. and the full size is $80.

This ambery floral fragrance illuminates with pink peppercorn, orange flower absolute and roasted tonka beans.

I am pretty happy with the box that I received this month and can't wait to try everything out!

I hope you all loved your boxes this month.

Have a beautiful day lovelies :)

xoxo Rae

Topbox Beauty Box Review!

Good Morning to my lovely readers!

Woke up to a lovely, unexpected surprise this morning! I got my Topbox in the mail! :)

I was originally going to make this blog an unboxing, but I figured that it will be far too long to do both in one, so after this one I will be doing an unboxing!

One thing I want to say first, is just regarding Topbox as a company. As most of you reading this probably know from an earlier blog that I had been having crazy issues with Glymm and just recently found out that they have decided to close their doors and stop serving their dedicated subscribers. I was a little disappointed in that and considered dropping the whole beauty box subscription service all together. I am so glad that I didn't make the decision to do so.

Topbox is an absolutely wonderful company and I have had absolutely no problems with the company, the products or the service so far. I purchase my boxes, they are not given to me and this is my own honest opinion (as always!). My boxes are always charged the first week of the month and delivered promptly during the second week. If ever there is a delay, Topbox actually communicates with their subscribers to let them know. This is something that Glymm struggled with for a long time. Payments were charged 2 months in advance and shipping was delayed till the very last day of the month. There was no consistency with Glymm. You were always left in the dark and they continued that in fine fashion right up until the day they closed their doors.

The products you receive I feel are definitely worth the money I spend and every once in a while they give you a choice on whether or not you want products they select or a privé box - which is essentially a box with  all of the same brand products, I have received so far a Clinique Privé and a Benefit Privé. I love this idea because there are some brands that I love and want to try a ton of their products and I think this is a great way for subscribers to have a choice in what they receive.

If you're looking at subscribing to a beauty subscription service in Canada, I would definitely consider Topbox! I highly recommend it and I've been through a lot of subscription companies.

Have a BEAUTIFUL day :)

Product Review: Revlon Colorstay Whipped

I have a love/hate relationship with foundation and I have yet to find a foundation that wows me. It just hasn't happened. The Revlon Colorstay is by far my favourite and I absolutely love it. I decided that before I left on a trip to Chicago that I would purchase the whipped version because I had been wanting to try it desperately.

Image of Revlon Colorstay Whipped

I bought it and wore it while I was in Chicago and sadly, I never wore it again after that.

It's about $16 here and comes in a heavy, thick glass jar. I feel like you're getting a lot less product than you think you are.

I found that the colour fit me better (150 Buff) with the whipped version than with the original. I have very oily skin, and that was probably my first mistake in trying this product. For some reason, it just didn't sit well on my skin after a few hours and it didn't help my oily skin at all, in fact, made it even more oily.

Image of Revlon Colorstay Whipped
It's a creamy texture and I actually LOVED how smooth it went on and how well it blended and if it weren't for my deciding factor, I probably would have kept using it.

I have one deciding factor on all foundations that I try and it's the one reason that I shy away from my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation...transfer.

I cannot wear a foundation that transfers. Who wants to pull a sweater on and have half their foundation end up on the collar of their sweater? Not me. Ever. How embarrassing. I found this foundation to transfer a lot and that is the main reason that I won't use it again. I tried using different primers, but to no avail...the foundation still transferred.

I will continue to use my Revlon Colorstay Oily/Combination until I find a foundation that my oily/combo skin actually likes!

Also, side note...I apply all my foundation with a stippling brush and the one that I took with me to Chicago that I used with the whipped actually became rock hard after I had used it with this foundation. It became crusty and just nasty.

Have a beautiful day! :)
